My hommage to Valeriana officinalis.
Although it seems so in this first video the main source of my excitement wasn't the little cushion, but the scattered filling of a tea bag I had ripped open shortly after it's offering. It's a calming good-night tea for humans and it contains valerian!
Very "calming" indeed! I wish I could dig right into the floor!

That's the same stuff that's in the plague rats so we know how you feel, Siena!
You look totally adorable in the videos :)
Mom bought us a toy filled with valerian after we wouldn't leave her tea alone! It's definitely not "calming" for cats :)!
i wanna go home from work so i can see that video!
Yep, cats like Valerian--it was in the cat garden our mom created for For the Love of Cats, and it's in our own garden, too! :) ~James and Fiona
Siena, valerian is better than cat nip for some kitties. You look really wired up, not calm!
MOL Siena!!! You look like a Roly~Poly bug!!! Mmmmmm, Valerian!
Wow, maybe I should try valerian on Minnie! :D
I thought Valerian helped people sleep. Obviously what do they know?
A calming tea??? It must have a different effect on us kitties! We gotta get us some of that stuff!

Siena, you are also doing a wonderful job of shining your Momma's floor.
Nip doesn't do anything for me but I have never tried valerian.
You look so cute with your ears back and wild eyes.
We love the videos :-) Valerian is wonderful! Olivia doesn't like it as much as I do - she's a nip girl.
It's a mystery why it calms humans...
Our Woman told me that she used to drink valerian tea and sometimes had some in her bag. And every time she visited her friend who had a big ginger mancat named Gaffa, he would gently remove all the things from her bag while sniffing them. When he'd finished emptying her bag (and sniffing everything) he'd jump on to her lap and snuggle until she went home :-)
Purrs,
Cliff
