In between years

We hope efurryone had a lovely Christmas!
We are doing some major napping these days. Our mom is very lazy with blogging and seems to get rounder every day. What's worst: she will leave us for three days. There are some people here that will look after us, but they are kind of strange. They didn't even allow us in all those other rooms upstairs. We are locked away in the basement! No ornament whapping! But don't worry, the room is bigger than our whole appartement back in Cologne and a superb chasing area. (It even smells nice and homely because mom and the other type of human sleep here and we brought loads of beds and blankies from home with us. We even brought our small kitchen cat-tree!) Needless to say, Chilli managed to sneak through the door and run upstairs four times already - so we are planning to take over when mom and the other type of human are gone and the inexpert people are defenseless, har, har, har. They are really funny, non-animal people but with good intentions. Today mom was talking to the women (who is the mom of the other type of human) here in our room. The other women was nervously rustling with a paper bag in her hands, so Chilli had to investigate and jumped up on her, clinging to her at waistheight. She did that TWO times. Mom said that was an inapropiate behaviour and that we shouldn't scare the women away. After all she's supposed to look after us all those three days!!! So please wish us good luck, okay?
We wish efurryone a Happy New Year! See you in 2009!

Santa, please don't look

The strain of being good during the last days was too much for me. I did something naughty. You see, I like to bite and attack things, mostly stuff made out out floofy (hint, hint) fabric. I had some hard goes at Siena's frog these days:

...the deadly neck bite...... different version of the deadly neck bite with bunny kick...
...sharp kitty teeth completely sunken in...The bitey!
Ever noticed this sort of riffled gum in our mouths? It has "teeth" on it!
Now, here's what I did:
I chewed my way through this little paper bag and even nibbled on the bread that's inside. I don't know what I was thinking. Bread!
I so hope that Santa wasn't looking. Maybe he will judge this as the minor offense it is - mom warned me about the wrapped presents though. Phew, that last day will be so hard! Purrs, Chilli

More training

Hi efurryone! I am "harness-training" for Christmas.
Catching the unruly leash (it really "weighed me down" the first time - I couldn't walk! Needless to say it didn't help that mom was laughing at me! Not at all!)...
Rolling around, trying to get the harness off somehow...
Getting mad in the basket where the dirty washing is stored...
More of the same...
Looking pleased...
I think I am doing furry good!
Purrs, Chilli

P.S.: Mom said that we could start the Gardening Cat training soon if I adapt to the harness. As you know, Siena is the Gardening Cat around here but she never had to go on a harness. Mom said it's because I don't listen to her and won't come when she calls me... Hrmpf!

Being good for Santa

We, like our furriends in the CB, are being good for Santa. Don't we look angelic when we sleep? We will spent Christmas with the family of the other type of human in a different city. Our mom is a bit nervous how we will like the change and how we will behave but is sure that the whole family will be furry impressed by our combined cuteness! Just as long as we leave alone the tree!!! We say a little ornament whapping can do no harm! Can it? ; )

Sly Saturday

Our human loves that sly look. The only problem is, she says, that I don't only LOOK like a lot of mischief - I am actually full of it!My nick name around here is Crazy Cat. I'll admit that I might have some extra energy - I am a kitty after all! Mom says, that only now she realizes what a good and well-mannered cat Siena was and still is. Boooooooring I say!Besides, I can do "cute" too. Don't I look like a perfect darling in this picture?
Siena on the other hand can't look any different than cute or pretty. She just hasn't my mimic repertoire! See how cute she looks in this picture where she just woke up because she heard something. Maybe this is a field where SHE can learn something from ME...
What do you think?

Truthful Thursday

Today I decided to take a big step. I will share my best hidden beauty flaw with you. It concerns a bit of a sensible matter and if you're not sure you want to know it, you should close your eyes for the length of this post. To give the others some preparation time I will interject my Thankful Thursday post and will thank...
... Peggy and her sweet cats for thinking of us and honouring us with the pretty, pretty, pretty Butterfly Award:
A big thank-you aswell to Angel for nominating me for the Lemonade Award. Sadly she has just lost her furriend Wizard a few days ago. He was a fierce fighter and left much too young.
And then a heart-felt thank-you to my dear friends Goldie, Shade & Banshee AND to the Creek Cats for this furry special award.
It has a lovely explanation:
"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."
Ehem, I will study the rules en detail in the next days. Promised!
Thank you again to all of you - especially from little Chilli who is absolutely thrilled.
Okay, eyes closed?

So, here's my secret: See that black spot of fur on my white 'tocks? Let's just say it's not my spot #13 (which was kindly hidden)... Not very proper for a young Girlcat is it? Phew, glad I revealed it. What beauty flaws do you have?

Evil Twig Tutorial

Since efurryone was interested in the move I did on the evil twig the other day, I thought I 'd show you a bit of the technique. It is ever so easy: It consists mostly in DISTRACTING the twig by making a big fuss without actually touching it. At first! Then you activate Twig Control and, well, the rest is history. Please note the big fuss in this video:

Naturally, you have to adapt to efurry twig situation. They come in all sizes and any time!
This one came up high.
Here I am mastering the evil twig on ground level.

If you are interested in studying my approach further, you can follow the linkies in this post to see more twig moves... Good luck out there!
Purrs, Siena

P.S.: I am teaching Chilli my technique but so far she hasn't got the essence of it. Sigh!
Where's the fuss? She's TOUCHING it straight away!

Again, the same mistake: No fuss but actual touching and nomming. It looks cute but you won't master the evil twig this way. Pleeez, don't try this at home!

Tuesday Twig Report

Some might have wondered if I could save Chilli the other day from the evil birch twig. Well, don't you worry...
... twig control is activated! HANG!

Now, who's...

... the vampire here?

Monday is...

... whiskerstime!!!
I am so excited as we were awarded the pretty Flutterby Award from Samantha and Mr. Tigger! Siena had gotten it before but this is the first time since I am around - so I'll take it personally! I talked this through with Siena and we would like to pass the award on to Dr. Tweety & da Fab Five, Scylla, Charybdis & Socks, Luna, Ollie & Luzie, sugary Sweet Praline and to Mickey and his sisters. Phew.
Thank you so much Samantha & Mr. Tigger!
Please see my tail raised with pride:
Our mom says those four tabby stripes are endearing - I think she overacts.

Cat TV

May we invite you to a little private Cat TV session?

Our human went to a pet store today to stock up on foods. She brought this little teaser with her. Now we want the real Cat TV dvd... Oh, by the way, she bought a little cushion filled with valerian, too. Siena totally freaked out, rolling around and rubbing her face in it. There's no eye footage right now but mom will surely make a video soon. It's hilarious! Neither cat nip nor valerian had an effect on Siena so far. She's almost 8 months now, maybe that's "the age"?

Finally Friday

Friday is kind of my day, as I arrived here on Friday three weeks ago. So, Siena said that I could to the Finally Friday post today. That's not that complicated, is it? Here it goes:
We wish efurryone a pawsome start into the weekend!!!!

Taking advantage of my blogspace I also wanted so say how furry thankful I am that things have settled down between Siena and me. The first days were constant growls and hisses, followed by days of hunting. It was pretty hard on our nerves, I can tell you... Maybe it was even hardest on mum's nerves! To illustrate our first days, I added a "defense pose" picture of me with my tail all puffed up and a "threatening pose" picture of Siena. The video that follows is a little growling sample. The quality is very bad but I think you'll get the picture. Mind though, that Siena only growled the first 1,5 days while I growled for far more days! And I screamed in an exaggerated way, I will admit that now... hehehehe.

Phew, thank cat that is all over and done with! And yippieh to Finally Friday!
Purrs to all of you out there, Chilli

The sixth photo meme

The lovely Sweet Praline tagged me for this fun meme. Instructions first:
  1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
  2. Go to the 6th Folder and then pick the 6th Picture.
  3. Post it on your bloggy and tell the story that goes with the picture.
  4. Tag 5 other glorious peoples to do the same thing and leave a comment on their bloggy tellin' them 'bout it.
So here you go. That picture was taken in September shortly before I turned 5 months old. There's no story behind it, as you can see I am just sleeping like I've been knocked out. Sweet kitty dreams! My mom named the picture Parallelokitty. My furs were a lot shorter then. Somehow that sheep skin got shorter by now - I wonder why? Wasn't I cute?
I will tag
Fui and Suey,
Pearl, Bert and Jake (hoping it might be a picture of the gorgeous Pearl),
my BSIF Momo,
Anita and
the "lot of them" at Everycat.
