we need your advice on anxiety medication. Oh, don't worry, it's not for us - it's for mom. You see, she is supposed to let us outside on a daily basis, but does she do so? No! How are we supposed to garden properly if we get to check on everything only once in a while? Especially at this time of year it needs a trained Gardening Cat's eye to spot tiny flowers and other developements. Before she left to visit the Poupounette we had a nice outing though. It was the first one after my spay surgery. But she always worries and worries that something will happen to us. We think she should relax a bit more and trust us.
If she let us out more often she'd get that much sought after header picture of us together in the garden.
I remember how much fun it was to plant a Hebe in this spot. This was in my very early gardening days. It didn't survive it's first Winter though. I sure hope we are going to plant something else here, I love to dig!!!
As always we had a lovely time in the garden. And it would be even lovlier if mom wouldn't worry that much.

Checking out the neighbour's place. During Summer, when his door is open she sometimes ventures inside his flat!

We of course are not allowed out at all, except in our run, so we are not qualified to give proper advice. #1 sayss he understands why your mum worries, though Apparently that is built-in to all mums and almost impossible to treat. Sigh...

Actually, you are very lucky you have a mom that worries about you and cares that you are not out running around getting hurt!
Banjo doesn't get to run around outside either. When he gets to go outside, and it's not very often, he is in a harness and leash. He has been since a baby so he really doesn't know anything different.
Maybe she will let you out soon for a little while as it would be nice to see all of you sniffing and playing in your beautiful garden! Best of luck!
Our human keeps an eagle-eye on us too, and only lets us out into the enclosed back space behind our townhouse. Maybe your mom could take you out on a harness and leash? Or maybe she can build or have built some sort of enclosure to keep you safe, yet still let you enjoy the fresh air? There are lots of kitty enclosures to be found on the Internet, for ideas. Honestly, Nicki needs a zoo cage--at least that's what the human keeps telling him!
We sympathize, even empathize, but the human completely understands your mom's worries. She loves you dearly and wants you to be safe.
Purrs and kitty kisses!
We can offer no help, our mum is a worry wart too. We had to have our yard enclosed here before we were allowed out without a lead, because she is convinced that we wont understand that cars move faster here than where we used to live. Ronny is not allowed out at all during the day because of his pinkness.
Just remember that the worry means your mum loves you a lot.
I think moms are natural worriers. You two are very lucky, because Harley and I are not allowed outside except on a harness and leash. That might be on account of the alligators though...
Moms always worry - it is because they love us so much! Love the pics of you out in the yard - looks like you were having a good time.

Our Mom is the same way and we only have a balcony to go onto!! She's worried we're going to fall off...silly moms
We have rules in our house and that means my momma Ellie and I NEVER get to go out. Jonesie and Ginger and Bennette...and well all of the kitties who came as strays get to go out because mom says they know the lay of the land and chose our house. Even Nigel who meets that rule still doesn't go outside! Mom still worries a lot and still keeps a watch whenever someone is outside. It's a mom's job to worry. It's what they do best.
Sorry beans just seem to be prone to worrying. Nothing you can do. ~AFSS
I need some for my Mom too. Let me know what you find out. It's just cause they love us so much, so who can blame them?
Mom squealed when she saw your fish color LSIF.
Oh Siena. You remind me so much of my first cat, Queenie...
Moms (and dads) are just natural worriers ... your mom only worries because she loves you so much. :)
Moms worry, it is what they do...you only have to worry if they stop worrying. Have a great weekend!
Our mom is the same......she worries so much that we NEVER get to go out.....:( Have a grand weekend.....xxxxxxxx
Moms just worry, there's no medication for it! However, if you remind her every day you want to go out (sit near door, meow a lot, maybe start scratching something if the door doesn't open), you will wear her down. We go out every morning and every afternoon and since she's been home more, wherever else we want (though sometimes we prefer sleeping). Our concession is, we actually come back in about 90% of the time she calls us. ~James and Fiona
I think all mums are the same... they are worry for our safety so they don'y want us to go out and explore to much :S
* Don't go too far ok!
Take care
We are not at all allowed outside so I cannot recommend anything. Once in awhile if we go out with the Woman but only one at a time because she is afraid we would run in opposite directions.
Our mom is the SAME way and she doesn't even LET us out! The closest we get in an open window, with a screen! We love the picture of you digging. Your facial expression is ADORABLE!
Our Mom only lets us outside if she's carrying us one at a time. I know that I'm brave enough to handle the big outside world, but stay inside to keep Mom calm... 9 thinks he's tough enough, but he's a big ole scaredy mouse... heheh

I pawmit mine to khonsume adult beverages...
That tends to khalm her during the evenings...
But YES, I know how Mom's khan be!
I mean, look at the tether I have to be on....pffffft!

Our mom would worry too if we went outside, so we know how your mom feels. Maybe you could get a cat enclosure like the Poupounette? And have some potted plants inside for gardening? How about a potted nip plant? Or a parsley pot like Huffle has?

my boyz are strictly indoor cats. they would be extremely happy if they had a nice garden to tend to...
My mom lets me out though I'm not too interested when it's cold. Shes ok as long as I'm back before dark and only stay in the backyard or right by the door in the front yard...she caught me across the parking lot once and all you could hear is..."TYGANAAAA GET BACK HERE" and then I had to go inside. You should set guidelines with your mom too
Don't blame your poor Mom too much! Sometimes the outside can be dangerous for kitties:( She loves you very much and just wants to protect you. Hooray for your Mom!
In New Zealand, it's really common for cats to be allowed to come and go as they please. It's much safer to be an indoor kitteh, because there are lots of things in the big bad world that can hurt us.
Aw, your mom worries so much because she loves both of you so much! Our mom won't let us go out at all because she's afraid we'd get lost or something. Guess she loves us too...
Mom's across the world worry about going outside. We are not allowed because of a 6 lane road just one house away. May be when summer gets here, she will go out with you.
Well, you know it's the mom's job to worry a lot. We're not allowed out at all except for our patio in the warmer months. We loved these pictures of you havin' fun in your garden. It's good that she cares so much. There are some cats that are allowed to go as they please cuz their moms don't really care. Maybe she would go out with you so she can keep any eye out. Hope something works out for you to have fun but be safe for the poor mom's anxiety level. :)
Purrs,
Lucy
Hi Siena & Chili. My MaaMaa will not allow any us out. We live our life inside an old, two-story house but there's lots to do. Purrs, Tankene Ice Mist
You guys get your self in trouble that's why ...
Serious problems for you two. If it stays like that your blog might as well be called Cat looking at a Garden. We have the same problems here. Even since Dushi's 'adventure', Photoguy is much more strict with us.
But we expect sunny days will finally put a stop to that, then the door will stay open and Photoguy will spend much more time in the garden too.
Moms are simply worry-warts; there is no getting round it! Perhaps when she has more time she will be able to let you out more and will feel less anxious...Tiger has nearly given me fits with all his escapades, so I understand how your Mom feels! I hope your Mom gets her picture of you both in the garden!
Our mum worries too and we are only allowed out in the fields if she is with us. We always come when we are called and then we can stay outdoors in our fenced in garden.
It's so beautiful see mommy smooching Chilli and so on! :)
Glad to see you both gardening, you are doing a great job there.I bet it will be full of colours and flowers at Spring!
purrs and love
Luna - We love Luna
But that's what Mom's are for...it's their job to worry & make sure that we are always O.K! I think that's a very comforting thought:)
your pal,
Bruce
We don't get to go outside at all (too many cars and dogs around here!) so we think you are lucky! Our mom worries a lot too so she says she understands how your mom feels.
P.S. Our mom says to tell your mom it was a literature review - she says your mom will know what she means. She finished the first half of it last year, but she says that was the easy part :). She thinks she read about 400 documents for the whole thing - maybe more! The good thing is our mom has done so many literature reviews that she keeps getting work - but they are not easy (as we are sure your mom knows!)
P.S. How cool that your mom went to France to visit Tama-Chan and her family! We really liked the photos from her trip.
The two of you are gorgeous-we are not allowed outdoors-Mama lost a baby last year and it broke her heart-we were found outdoors but since we were rescued we became indoor kitties-but that is fine we are spoilt.

I love digging too. I'll come and help, LSIF!
Worrying is what Moms do :) Maybe she needs some catnip!!!
That first picture is an especially cute picture of you!
Gardening is a very hard job! It is something that you have to do every day! But if you lives in an dangerous neighborhood... we hopes that nothing bad happens to you two.
Our humans tell us to tell you to tell your human that they understand. We only go out with the humans on their leash - or in one of our cat yards. Lovely pics of you doing the gardening. Looks like spring is coming earlier at your place.
