With regard to your question, I did not separate the cats at all! The house has lots of hidey holes and the kitten is small enough still that she can get into places that Sen-Chan can no longer get into, so there were always places she felt safe. He was never aggressive with her, though, just pinned her to the ground and held her as she SCREAMED!
I think that the thing to remember is that it will take time, even in the best case scenario. It was the third week before mine started to play together, and almost four weeks until the first cuddle!
This is the first time the PM ever separated the cats when a new addition came. So all the others when she was growing up and when I came were just all out with each other.
It is all good.
As long as the new kitty has some place to hide out they should be fine!!!
Oh Siena you look so regal and lovely with your lasers. See how I address you first... The little one is cute. Maybe you should embrace your little hissy, err sissy.
Hi Siena, you look very gothic, sitting there in the dark watching for the new one. The new one is very pretty and looks like she will be a good pal for you. You will be able to teach her so much. You will be the big sister!
Oh, the new kitty is beautiful! Is she a dilute calico?
I forgot to mention one thing yesterday. The first time when Harley and I came "face to face", my Mommie took out my favorite toy, the Cat Dancer and moved it around in front of me. I was so focused on the toy, I hardly noticed Harley.
I am a Norwegian Forest Cat born April 2008. I live in an apartment in the city with my mom and my little sisfur Chilli, who came to live with us in November 2008. Feel free to follow our adventures as we grow up. Hearty purrs, Siena
