it's me, Chillimus Prettypuss. I'm on a very secret mission today. Siena and mom have been hiding something from you! Months ago, before Christmas, we received a big package from our human friend Marlene, the mommy of Chani and 9. Inside was a carefully wrapped drawing of Siena! It's beautiful and we all love it very much. It's now sitting on mom's writing desk so we can look at it whenever we want. Why didn't mom and Siena show it to you? Well, because Miss "it's all only floof" got a bit selfconscious after she heard the vet mention that she had to cut through a considerable amount of belly fat for her spay surgery this January. The vet called her a "chubby teenager"! Ouch. Siena refused to pose with the drawing after that. Of course, as head of the Silky & Slender Crew, I'm unfamiliar as can be with such a situation. But I wanted to finally say a public thank you too to Marlene for the drawing. It's very special to us. I don't want my sisfur to feel bad. That's why I'm peskering and chasing her more these days. Do you have any other suggestions to get Miss Snowfox back in shape?

hmmm, do u guys share one bowl of food or do u have separate... maybe she needs a bf, then he could chase her around and keep her in shape?? she still is gorgeous-fat? naw, just a lot of gorgeous hair!.
We think Siena looks perfect the way she is, but the chasing will definitely help if she feels self-conscious!
Hi... Siena's art picture is very good!
Happy monday :)
What a beautiful portrait!
We have NO advice on helping Siena get back in shape - Tasha has gained so much weight this winter that Brian says she looks like an hourglass where all the sand has run to the bottom. If Mom cuts back on the food, Franklin gets thinner but the other two stay the same. We do think warmer weather helps with most cats, but it doesn't seem to help Tasha very much.
P.S. Corrected Chilli's spelling in the blog - sorry about that! Please give her our apologies
My momma Ellie and I are very weensy and mom says it's because we are very "busy" little girls...constantly playing and getting into stuff...while Ginger with her considerable belly "floof" spends most of her time lounging on her backside. Just make sure Siena plays some more....it's the fun way to get rid of excess junk in the trunk.
That's a lovely portrait of Siena, what a wonderful gift.
As for losing weight, well, not all of us is intended to be svelte. All three of us have different body shapes and types, with Derry being the chubby one. He can just look at kibble and gain weight (he's like our human, who can pack it on very easily!).
We do know that canned food is about 78% water, so if Siena is eating a lot of dry and will eat canned, it's better for her overall.
Dat protrait of Siena is bootiful. No advice on the diet cuz I'm on one too. Please check out my blog friends as a surprise awaits you there.
that's nice portrait.
you could try diego-san's method of helping theo stay thin. diego helps himself to theo's meals whenever i'm not supervising.
What a beautiful portrait of Siena! I think you fabulous, Siena! Mama wishes there was a Miss Chillimus to chase me. I'm fatter than Siena by a long shot. You'll be able to run around your garden this summer, Siena, and you'll probably lose a little weight. I enjoyed all these pictures. You always have such fun pictures at your blog.
Purrs,
Lucy
I don't think she looks fat either, but chase away just to be helpful!
There are these plastic balls that your Mom can buy. They have small kibble-sized holes in them that you can adjust the size of. You put the kibble inside and then your cat has to work to get the kibble out. They really give you a work out!
It is a lovely picture! I think that is all floof!
That is a wonderful drawing! And we think Siena does not look fat at all....it must be floof maybe?

Our Vet told us we were over weight, too! mom does not think so, but put us on diet food any way. Now she thinks we are getting thinner. Of course, we chase each other a lot, too!
It is furry hard when one has multiple cats, to put just one on a diet! Disco so far has only lost 1# since January and I know I would be successful (cuz I got him down from 15# to 12.5# before) if could just feed him canned food. But I just got a bowl that makes him (and everyone else, boohoo) work for their kibble. Here's a link to it:

I think it's easier for some cats to gain weight as well as harder for them to lose, just like with people. By the way, we got our own twitter feed! http://twitter.com/JimiBizi ~James and Fiona
Hopefully, you will get things settled very soon and Miss Siena will be back to normal again.
What a beautiful portrait of Sienna! We love that first photo of you Chilli :)

Love the portrait. Your idea about chasing your sister is a win-win: you both play and keep fit.
Very pretty portrait!
Maybe Siena doesn't have to LOSE weight, but just try not to gain any more? She looks lovely to me! As do you, Chilimus.
That is a great portrait of Sienna! And we didn't think she looked pudgy at all - she seemed ok to us! You are both very beautiful kitties!
We cud change the name of the club to silky and chubby!
But tell Siena NOT to worry 'cos she looks good just as she is!
Love Chubby Alfie Marshall (member of the silky and chubby crew).
Gosh all of you are so pretty. And Siena, you do look perfect. Not to worry about the spay deal. You will be just fine.
And that drawing is wonderful. Wish we could get one of some of us. That is really well done.
We think our beloved Siena is JUST PERFECT! And the drawing very lovely. We have one of Tama-Chan too and we think Marlene is very talented!
Chilli, that first pic of you is great. We love your determined expression!
It is quite common for any fixed cat - male or female - to gain weight after the operation. Jadzia gained a pound within a month of hers, and we won't even discuss Nimbus LOL. The main focus shouldn't be on the pudge but on her energy level. As long as she can still move quick and isn't showing any signs of lethargy, it's ok. Jadzia still has a wee pudge on her belly but she's so fast, I can't catch her 99% of the time!
More Play! That's the way!
LOVE that drawing of Siena!
~Lisa Co9T
That is a lovely sketch...We think you guys look perfect to us just the way you are, but don't all kitties (and humans!) seem to gain weight in the winter, lose weight in the summer anyway?!...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Siena is perfect, but it can't hurt to run her around.
Well... I think Siena should be a model cat :)
What a lovely drawing! WE don't think Siena's fat AT ALL...I think that V-E-T may need glasses. But the best way to burn fat is bunny kicking and/or zooming around the garden.
She's not chubby !!!
That is a lovely portrait. It's not fair because Flynn is slim but eats twice as much as me.He runs everywhere though and never puts on weight.
Eric
Siena shouldn't feel badly, because no one can tell is she's chubby specifically because of her floofy furs! Anyway, that's a gorgeous drawing of her that Marlene did. She should be proud to pose with it.
That Chilli's always on the move, maybe that's why she's so slender.
By the way, in case you missed it, Chilli was on the LOLSpot last Friday. She sure can make some funny faces!
That's a lovely picture of Siena! You keep chasing her, Chilli, and she'll be svelte in no time (not that she needs to be svelte or anything)...
The drawing is beautiful and so is Siena. As to tips to stay in shape: we find tree climbing very helpful.
We bet that vet has some belly fat too so she just needs to quite talking like that about sweet Siena! Her portrait is beautiful as is she and we love that first photo of you Chilli!
What a lovely picture!! Hmm, that's a good question. Maybe you could chase her up and down stairs?
My human was worried that I was getting a bit chubby, so she started limiting my food. Now I'm back to being a sleek mancat!
I think the VET is a crackpot LSIF! You look lovely
Siena needs no improvement! We love the drawing; what a special gift. We just peeked in at Mishkat and saw the crocus blooming. Happy spring, furriends!
I'm so glad that you like the drawing! I'm sorry that Siena is so self-conscious. Chilli, do your best to play with your sisfur so she can keep her girlish figure!
So pretty!
I bet she'll slim down now that Spring has sprung for you all! Just get her chasing some bugs!!!
Just keep moving and chasing - although I think she looks lovely!
Great drawing too!
What a beautiful portrait!
Do you have foods out all day? We get fed in the morning and the evening, and anything uneaten after about 20 minutes gets picked up. We always finish all of our foods right away though. Our vet says "grazing" all day long is not good for us.
We think Siena is perfect the way she is. The portrait is beautiful. What else could it be with my LSIF as the subject?
We think Siena looks great (and floofy). That sure is nice of you to help her get in shape with all the chasing and playing, Chilli!
Aw, Siena dint have ta hide the drawing! It doesnt even SHOW her belly...
Sorry, cant give anny dietin advice. My nickname is "Pudge".
Iza
hello... regarding the greatly desired 'kitty bed' .. our/Mrs H email is: helen.lansdown@btinternet.com Love Darcy and Bingley xx
Such a beautiful picture of Siena. Of course she is so beautiful herself - how could it not be! :) I got my cat Banjo down from 30 lbs to 18 lbs simply by changing his food. I found a food that was high in protien. Pure chicken was the 1st ingredient (not by-product, not corn or rice) and it was 37% to 41% protien. Slowly but surely his weight came off. He's an indoor kitty so doesn't get to run around outside. But he is svelt now and much healthier. Hope that helps!
I thinks that eating her food would help too. Besides peskering and chasing Scylla I gobble down my food real fast and then start on hers. ~Artemisia
¡Cada día que pasa están más bellas amigas!
Such a beautiful portrait drawing!
This drawing is so lovely. If you're still looking for ways to help your "sisfur," your should let your mom know that my kitties love love the "cat dancer" and they will bounce around all over the place chasing it--and i think it only costs 2-3 dollars too if i remember right! But she is very lovely as she is so I don't think you should pick on her or anything :)
What a lovely portrait of Siena! We really like the picture of her with it.
It sounds like your being a good sis-furr, playing and chasing Siena.
Have a nice rest of the week and weekend!
Charlemagne and Tamar
What a nice drawing of Siena. And very nice photos. We think Siena is perfect just as she is - but you should keep chasing her, just for the fun of it ;-)
