Two proud cats

Dearest furriends,
we have excellent news: mom handed in her thesis! She did it today two weeks ago - we are all overjoyed since that day.
It was quite a struggle to get her to this point, believe us. We never mastered the strength to tell you that mom and the other type of human broke up shortly before Christmas. It was too sad for all of us. After ten years with him as her partner mom felt devastated. She was firmly convinced she couldn't write her work. Chillimus and I had to work FULL TIME to help her. It was our ultimate challenge as student cats.
I sat on her papers. And always had a loving...
... and watchful eye on her.
Chillimus loved on her. A lot.
And mom soaked that love right up!
Chilli also made sure mom didn't forget anything when she left to work at university.
All three of us worked so hard - it was very exhausting.

But the hard work paid off and now mom is free to get on with her life. We are both very relieved and PROUD that mom suceeded despite the difficult circumstances. We never doubted you a moment mom!
We hope we can get her back to blogging regularly once her strength is restored.
See you soon!

Finally Friday

Furriends,
mom is crazy busy: she finally applied her diploma thesis and the work is due in two and a half months. We have set up our help desk and are doing everything we can.
Come on mom, get working. Now!
Siena makes sure mom relaxes from time to time.
It's hard work with mom, I can tell you!
We wish you a wonderful weekend!

Finally Friday

Hi furriends!
Just in case you're wondering: Mom and the other type of human had a lovely little holiday. They came back ages ago and mom is worse than before her vacation in helping us blog. Ts, ts, ts!
Instead we have to help her again with her studies.
Our catsitter took excellent care of us while she was away and we had a really good time. Mom received several text message telling her about how we were doing and our little adventures and she says she didn't worry about us for a second. This is almost a miracle, considering what a worry wart mom is! Our humans met some furriends of us while they were on holiday. We'll tell you all about it in our next post. Have a pawsome Friday!
Many purrs,

Thursday, talking about the garden

Dear furriends,
the weather has been unsettled here with rain, wind and even hail. With such horrible conditions we have to confirm ourselves with being "Cats looking at a Garden" again.
We both have been helping mom study. She has lots of books to check wether they could be of interest for her final written work. This one's quite comfy!
You know how much we love our garden, but being a Gardening Cat can has its disadvantages too.You see, fast little Chillimus escaped into the hallway and usually she runs up all the stairs right to the attic. But this time some overwintering plants of a neighbour stopped her and mom could grab and carry her inside again - only on level two of the house. This is a partial view of our patio from one of the top windows. You can see the roofs of the bicycle shelter and our little circular garden area. We have two more garden beds. It's all very small, and no lawn ever seems to grow there, but we love it. On the left side from the wall is a very messy property where an illegal addition to a house was built. Mom doesn't like it at all when we snoopervise there.
And here's another pictures where you can appreciate that in our case the grass really is greener on the other side. This is "the other world" behind our wall where we like to garden too. The Birch filling the right of the picture is still on our ground. This whole area hasn't got direct access to any streets, so it's reasonably safe for us. At the far end you might see a grey wall though. From there the introoder Dado gets into our turf and behind it there's an open garage door leading to a street. We have never climbed on that wall so far. But with neighbours leaving cellar doors open, general coming and going to the dustbins, the bikes etc. and so on, mom feels safer when she's out there with us to snoopervise. It's calm now that it's cold, but it gets busier when it's warmer. We're good girls and almost always come when called, so I hope for many nice gardening hours this Spring and Summer.
So there, that's where we live!

Healing and resting

Dear furriends,
it has been a bit silent on our bloggie. We will have to say goodbye to the idea of daily blogging because our mom needs our help as student's cats. We all love blogging, but she doesn't get anything done without us. Sigh, a cat has to do what a cat has to do. We'll be around, don't worry, but just not as much.
But first of all I have some healing to do. You see, I had my spay surgery on Thursday and I just came back from an antinflammatory shot today. Boy, was I feeling miserable Thursday and Friday! I even threw up two times Thursday night. And that little sisfur of mine just ignores me instead of washing and snuggling me like I did when she had her surgery! At least she doesn't throw hissy fits so I have my peace. You might wonder why I had the surgery only now and not earlier. Well, initially I was meant to get a little bunch of Norwegian Forest Cats. But mom and I talked things through and we realised that this is not a good idea for multiple reasons. I'm sure I would have been a terrific mom and my kittens would have had the most beautiful floofy tails, but I'm equally fine just enjoying my life like it was with Chillimus and mom. I'll just baby Chilli instead. Ha!
With this going on it was a wonderful surprise - and purrfect timing - that we received a present from our dear furriends over at Quiltcat's Mewsings today. We didn't have a clue! It's a comfy cat mat and just the thing for me now. Mom got a cotton sachet filled with organic lavender, so we are all beaming with happiness. Last year we played Paw it Forward with mom Paula and like then she sent a really pretty selfmade card along. It's sitting on our bookshelf now right next to the other one. Thank you Paula and Sylvie, Louie, Fuzzy & Gingy, this was a genuine surprise!
On Monday I have to go back to the dreaded vet. Please keep paws crossed that I won't need to wear one of these cones. I have a plaster on the incision and didn't get to it so far. The vet said I'm doing fine and I already purred for mom yesterday.
Love,
Siena Snowfox
