No friend of mine

Remember Dado? It seems that guy is here to stay. He's been nosing around in our garden regularly, getting himself into fights with the neighbour cats Frida and Lilly.
Here he's sitting on our wall.Siena on her way to chase him off.
Quite often there's one heck of a noise in the middle of the night and we know that it's Dado, challenging Frida. Frida is a tough cookie, but Dado is a big mancat.
One morning mom went outside and saw this. This is not Lilly. It's Dado. He made it onto their garage roof.
This is wrong. So wrong. Dado, go back to where you belong!
Several times mom found Dado threatening Chilli in the other world behind our wall. Mom knows something is wrong when Chilli doesn't come when called and nowadays it's most probably because Dado has her locked somewhere.
Today he actually chased Chilli up our maple tree.
In our own garden!
Siena never ever went up so high and she likes to climb trees.
The little one was up really high! Parallel to the balcony of the third floor, every appartment has the ceiling at 3,40 m. Just imagine.

Chilli was scared and cried for help.
Mom organised a ladder to get a bit closer to her but there was no way to reach her. We would have needed a ladder two and a half times as big to reach the little one!
Luckily having mom closer helped and Chilli got down on her own after a while.
It was so heartwarming seeing her descend backwards down that loooong trunk. Mom and a neighbour who was helping applauded the little one.
Mom sent a text message to Dado's owner saying that they have to have a talk and that she should get in contact with us, but so far she didn't call back. If Dado keeps causing so much trouble it will be trouble for his owner!
According to Chilli the worst bit was that Lilly was watching the whole time.
We were a bit exhausted but finished the day off nicely by doing one of my favourite things in the garden: Digging a deep hole! I love to zoom in and out of earth holes, helping with the digging and all. It makes me feel very frisky! It was Chilli's first opportunity to help digging a hole and she did nicely.
And no, the hole wasn't for Dado but for a beautiful hibiscus. ; )
Purrs to all,
Siena Snowfox

What a day you had ...
Take a nap & don't go there anymore but you are a Cat With A Garden so I suppose you must ..

Poor Chili, that tree was very high. I don't like to climb that sort of tree because they are quite easy to get up, but they are hard to come down from because they are too vertical. That Dado is being a real nuisance. Maybe a hosepipe would discourage him. Hehe, Eric said a water cannon would be better.

Oh that is a very rude cat! Poor Chili!

What drama! That Dado sure is a bully! All of the other neighbourhood kitties shouldn't have to suffer for him. I wonder if he's neutered. His aggressive behaviour suggests he may not be.

I'm so happy that Chilli finally participated in her own rescue. I'm sure your presence was a loving inducement.

And finally, the digging! I think that's so funny. I wonder if it's a good stress reliever. Chilli really needed it after her harrowing day!

Poor Chilli! She was up really high! I'd be scared too.

I hope Dado's mom gets in touch with you. This really has to stop.

I'm glad that Siena and Chilli got to have some good times in the garden too!

Ummm, I am not happy about this one bit. This Dado needs to be taught a lesson. No mancat messes with my girl. I hate that you have to climb trees to get away from that big oaf. Be careful my dearest Chilli...in the meantime, I'm going to try to think of ways to teleport over to you!

Jonesie said if she could teleport over she'd "whup his butt"...that's a direct quote.

Poor Chili, the tree was very high... lucky she got her way down safely :)

* we sympathize with Dado because he might not get love and attention from his owner...

That is scary high! WE are glad you got down safely.

Oh that Dado! Looks like he has a home and is well taken care of. He's not skinny or anything. He needs to leave your babies alone. :) I can't believe Chilli got that high up in the tree too! Good thing mommy was there to help! Lol!

That is so mean of Dado to scare poor little Chilli so far up that tree. We're so glad she got down safely and hopefully Dado's mom stops letting him roam so much so he doesn't scare little girl kitties anymore.

We are glad the hole is for a hibiscus. We loves hibiscus. We wish we had a solution for Dado, we are sorry he isn't nicer. ~S,S,C & F

Oh no! We are so sorry you ended up high in that tree, Chilli! You musta been so scared! We are glad you finally came back down. We hope Dado's aggressive behavior can be controlled. Makes us think he is not neutered.

My tail is puffed and I'm hissy! Poor brave Chilli!

I remember that zoomy in the hole video from when we first met LSIF!

We think a little water on Dado will scare him off and not hurt him. Sorry he is such a bother to Chili!

i like the end of the story with the hibiscus being hidden in the hole :)

We think Dado is a big bully! We hope he goes home and stays there! Poor Chilli! We were worried about her so high in that tree!

Hmmph that's not at all nice of Dado to be terrorizing everybody in your neighborhood, especially not Chilli! Meowmy's friend Effie would get a live trap and trap Dado and take him to the shelter and make his owner pay to get him back... I'm not sure if things work like that in Germany or if your Mommy wants to be that aggressive, but things definitely need to change. Dado is sure acting like he's not neutered.

We hope you can get things sorted out with that bully Dado. Chilli, you are a wonderful climber!:)

It was so sad to see dear little Chilli stuck up that tree ~ and her little meow made us want to scoop her up and rescue her. Thank goodness she got down safely.

That tree is really really high. Trees are nice, but that is a bit much. Good thing Chilli came down on her own. (We knew she could do it)

We can know why Dado keeps coming back, you are all so beautiful, but he really should mind his manners. If you see him again, tell him we said that.

We used to have a bully cat in our neighborhood too but luckily they moved away. He used to come in our backyard & pick on our cat everyday! Hope you have good luck contacting Dado's owners so they do something about him! So glad that cute little Chilli made her way down that tall tall tree! Siena...great hole!
your friend,
Bruce:)

Poor Chili, we were very worried for her as that tree was very high.

I guess Dado, is just being a mancat and being very territorial, which is normal behaviour for males. We read that ladycats will look after their property and the next door neighbours, but a mancat may look after a whole block of properties.

When a local tomcat was hassling poppy I got a water pistol and squirted him if he came near. So we never hurt him or chased him off, just gave him a squirt of water to get him away.

I think he has moved now, so no more problems.

We hope you get sorted.

This is absolutely WRONG! But you are a brave girl, Chilli, for coming down that so tall tree all on your own.

We're glad you got to have some digging fun afterwards!

I was got stuck in a tree for three days but my mama could reach me on the ladder. I forgot to meow so she didn't know where I was for a long time. Fiona is better with getting down. Now I only run up maybe six feet on the trunk and jump back off. Safer! A stoopid introoder cat comes to our garden too. Neither Fiona nor I like him. ~James

Oh, poor Chili! I have to say that I feel bad for Dado. It seems he doesn't have a very good owner. I think he needs to be neutered. I wish he had someone who loved him more and kept him inside. Siena, you look so funny digging and having fun with the holes.

This is the type that is really looking for trouble, isn't he? I hope his mom will be nice (well-educated) enough to bring some order to this...
Chilli went up really high, that was way too frightening!!!

It does sound like he is not altered but either way, be careful, you don't know if he carries a disease, if you get caught by him you could get all scratched up like Whitey! Be careful Chili...We must admit, it looks like fun climbing way up there=^Y^=the Cat Street Boyz

Dado, you are a bad, bad, bad cat! Go home where you belong.

Actually, I think it is Dado's owners who are the bad ones. I hope they will become more responsible so you girls can be safe in your own garden.
