A Gardening Cat's Gold

Dear furriends,
today is a special day for us because we helped mom to harvest our nip seeds. The seed we harvested are from the original plants Chilli raised as her masterpiece for her Gardening Cat Examination last year. She did such a good job on the plants and they came back nicely this year.Harvesting the seed is a delicate job and we watched mom closely while she did it. Chilli takes special pride in these plants so she watched even closer. We got a nice little pile of seeds! Then mom went outside for a second to throw away the debris and when she came back in an 'accident' had happened:Chillimus was ON the table rolling around IN the nip seeds! That little sisfur!

We're back home!

Dear furriends,
finally we can wish you a happy New Decade! Doesn't time fly by?
While we were away I went into lovebug mode and took every chance to sit on mom. She's very warm and comfy - just as moms should be.
I just love to make biscuits on her!
Here I'm giving the felted foxtail we got from our furriends at Sumac Stories a good chomping and bunny kicking.
A little disagreement with Chillimus over who's turn it it to play with the toy.
Nice Curly Q on Chilli.Chilli the cowboy catgirl. She still had the sniffles in this pic.
Mom had a good vacation up at the North Sea with the other type of human and their friends. She's never been so much north in Germany and enjoyed the landscape.
That's the North Sea behind that frosted field.Mom loved the light.
The coastal line.
When they came back to the other type of human's parents they were suprised to find it had snowed considerably.
De-icing the front window of the rented car.
We had to postpone our trip back home for all the snow and it was a wise decision as there was a 25km traffic jam that night.
Chilli is miffed that mom didn't bring a feather for her.
Chilli didn't get the calming pill on our trip home because it didn't really help the first time. We got a nice comment on anxiety medication and will look into that for next year. It's very good news that Chilli got over the sniffles though. Mom gave her a homoepathic medicine which helped me once too.
No place like home.
Many purrs,

Finally Friday - Paw it forward

Mom Paula and her four quilt-loving cats Gingy, Silvie, Louie & Fuzzy played Paw it forward with us. It's a wonderful idea - here's some information about it:
"The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way.
This is how it works...
I am going to agree to send something fun, inspiring or uplifting to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to me, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog.
There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness does not have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around."
Update: We are getting the impression that times are indeed that rough that most kitties can't play although they want to. So we changed the rules to "you can pick one Paw it forward furriend plus one than wants to play and comments on your blog". We've already chosen one furriend but there's still a vacancy! : )
Siena is inspecting the load.
Mom mostly looked forward to the card which she hoped would be hand crafted by mom Paula. Her hope came true - look at the lovely card! It conveys a beautiful message, don't you think?!We BOTH got a Boogie Mat. Mom was mumbling 'Oh, she shouldn't have!' the whole time.Check out Chilli's expression in this picture, it says it all. And mom hadn't even figured out at that point that there was nip to go inside! Hahahaha! She always just thought that the boogie mats looked pretty.Guess who slept for hours on the boogie mat right on the kitchen floor where we unpacked them?Mom got a sweet fridge magnet with Ruby-Throated Hummingsbirds. All three of us got really wide-eyed when we heard that they are native to North America. Maybe for different reasons, though...
Here you can see the hummingbirds watching over us from the oven door. Funny, normally WE watch the birdies, but we guess it's okay in this case as they are very special birdies. We love them!
Just in time Paula sent us this pawsome brush. Shedding has just started - and some of you might know what that means for a floofy kitty like Siena. Magically she likes the Zoom Groom. Chilli thought it was at least very whapable.

Here's the proof that we like the All natural Tempations with salmon very much! Temptations are called Dreamies over here and we don't have the All natural ones. Yummy!
Thank you very much Paula and our four fellow felines, we will put your pressies in good use! : )

P.S.: If you like to comment but not play Paw it forward just say so - even if we're young kitties we understand that these are rough times.

Snoopervision

We are very sorry there wasn't an update on Chilli yesterday.
When mom finally got round to posting she couldn't enter the internet - our connection was down for several hours. The good notice is that Chilli is lively, playful and alert and there wasn't any vomiting or squirts anymore. The bad notice however is that she doesn't seem to be doing #2 at all, except for very little yesterday night. Mom snoopervises every trip to the litter box she does and if 'it' doesn't happen any time soon she's off to the vet.
We got some nip yesterday and thouroughly enjoyed it. Chilli reacts to the nip now!
We always get into fights when nip is involved...
