Thursday in the garden

Today we're going a bit back in time because we want to show you Chilli's favourite plant. You might have seen it in the background of Chilli's portrait for Catwalk Caturday which happens to be one of our favourite pics of the little one, so we post it again too. The false sunflower plant is a cheerful plant but quite the thug says mom as it spreads fast and easily. But she's oh so ready to forgive this when it's blooming. Look at these cheery blooms!
Guess why it's Chilli's favourite plant? It's abuzz with bees during bloomtime!
Sigh, when you go outside to look for this plant now you will only see dry brown stalks and seedheads. But next year it will come back and with our good care hopefully bloom as proliferous as this year.
Happy gardening,
Siena & Chilli

A sweet kitty in the sunshine ~ wonderful! Chilli looks very beautiful in the sunlight. Gosh ~ it is so cold and windy here today with dry brown plants as well. Thank you for reminding me that spring and summer will return!

In responce to your question you left about Banjo - my handsome boy actually came to us as an ordinary barn cat ~ his mamma being a tabby and his father 'unknown'. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any Snow Bangel in him ~ but he's still special to me!! :)

Have a most wonderful day!

It sure does seem like a GRRR-8 flower to love! And be careful with them bees, they sting ya know. And, mom has been calling Cricket a TortiCo, since she has the Tortie furs but white too. She's acutally called a Tortie With White. But, since that's a mouthful we say TortiCo!

What beautiful flowers! We've never hear of a false sunflower plant! Mom says she would love to have this in her garden!!

But be careful with those bees, Chilli! They can be so unfriendly sometimes!

You look wonderful in front of those lovely flowers, Chilli! I can't wait for the spring either, but I am really enjoying the cold weather right now :D

I'm not sure if your mom has emailed me, but I'm just checking!

Oh, and here I thought they were still blooming in your yard, until I reached the end of your story. False, or not, they are indeed very cheerful. And seeing Chilli in amongst them is a real picture of PURRfection!

What a wonderful idea to go back to a time of the year when the garden was warm and colorful and full of buzzing bees! A garden cat's dream.

Chilli, you always look so wonderful and your portrait in the sunflowers is gorgeous!

Regarding your question about Sweet Pea - she is living permanently with The Ball Guy, but because he visits so frequently, he wants to be able to visit with her! Thank you for your advice...we are going to try to get her slowly used to us (or us used to her) so she can visit all the time!

Chilli, you look super cute out there with the plants! We have two of those plants but there are the "Sunset" version with burgundy petals and a yellow centre. The PM wants to have a huge patch of the regular false sunflowers on the edge of the front yard. Most of the old farm houses around here are like that. She was going to stop at one of the houses and ask if she could take a bunch of seeds but she was too late. The seeds were all down. She'll have to be earlier next year!
