Only one to go

Furriends, the countdown is on - only one blue egg left to hatch.
The little ones are doing cute little chirps and Mrs. Blackbird is busy feeding them.
And look: Daddy Blackbird is helping feed the chicks too. Now that they have hatched starts the critical time concerning the Magpies. Maybe the chirping attracts them. Mom is determined to defend the featherless feathers.
She got some larvae at the pet shop today to offer to family Blackbird. With the wet weather there should be plenty of Earthworms around but she says she wants to offer some support. Gross! Thanks mom, now that I know what these birds feed on I don't even want to eat them any more.
What's in the bag on the left you ask? Water fleas as a treat for our Fischies. Extra gross!!!

Encounters of the cat kind

Dear furriends,
I don't mean to frighten anyone, ...... but it's time to freak out! Seriously! We have a ghost! Siena and mom are completely unaware of the fact that there's an evil ghost living in mom's loft bed. And it's not a friendly ghost like this one. It's very evil!I have extremely sharp senses and I clearly sensed a presence up there this morning. This happened once already and that time I ran and hid behind the washing machine in the kitchen. Mom says I'm a little silly Chilli and that I'm afraid of the reflection two crystals in the window produce. WHAT????

She just thinks I'm terribly cute.
Honestly, I need some help here. Any advice on ghost hunting is most welcome.

Challenges

Dear furriends,
we need your advice on anxiety medication. Oh, don't worry, it's not for us - it's for mom. You see, she is supposed to let us outside on a daily basis, but does she do so? No! How are we supposed to garden properly if we get to check on everything only once in a while? Especially at this time of year it needs a trained Gardening Cat's eye to spot tiny flowers and other developements. Before she left to visit the Poupounette we had a nice outing though. It was the first one after my spay surgery. But she always worries and worries that something will happen to us. We think she should relax a bit more and trust us.
If she let us out more often she'd get that much sought after header picture of us together in the garden.
I remember how much fun it was to plant a Hebe in this spot. This was in my very early gardening days. It didn't survive it's first Winter though. I sure hope we are going to plant something else here, I love to dig!!!
Chillimus in the other world behind our wall.
Checking out the neighbour's place. During Summer, when his door is open she sometimes ventures inside his flat!
Chilli smooching mom.
Mom smooching Chilli.
As always we had a lovely time in the garden. And it would be even lovlier if mom wouldn't worry that much.

Muspuss names

Over the last days we found out that mom must have missed us more during her little vacation around New Year than she is willing to admit. You see, with them was Emma, the sweet Beagle woofie of the other couple. It seems that mom went crazy over her, seeing her little Chillimus Prettypuss in some of her moves. Hence she called Emma "Emmamus" for the whole stay. Silly mom! One night while they were watching a movie Emmamus even borrowed under the blanket with mom and the other type of human. Her heart almost melted!

As a true Beagle Emma loves food. Here she's munching away on a dried pig ear. Ehem, it must be a woofie thing. Her ears are a bit wet because she chose to roll around in a dungheap that day and had to have a shower. Mom? What exactly did you remind of me?
Those ears must be very silky!
Emma is very good at agility. Here you see her doing a zig-zag parcour on the beach. She's very good at placing her cute snout on the human's leg while begging too! Those eyes must get her everything. I think I'd like to play with these walnuts.
The center of attention. I'd like that too!
Now we're talking: Emma has a real and extra cosy sheep skin lining her doggie bed!
Mooooooooom, I want one tooooooo!

In the spa

Ladycat Chilli is indulging in a beauty treatment in her purrsonal at-home spa today. Yes, she's a posh girl with her own spa.Ladycat Chilli so enjoys this. It makes her feel squeaky clean and beautiful. But look what poor housing she provides for her employee: only the tiniest of cubicle. Someone should do something about this!

On felting

When felting wool you have to work the fleece very vigorously from different angles and directions. Mom prepared a little video to show you the felting process. Try to ignore her Darth Vader breathing at the end of the video. With a little patience, luck or skill the result will look just like this: A purrfect Norwegian Forest Cat.
You can mail mom any time if you have questions on the single steps. Good luck!

Thankful Thursday

Just a quick note to let you know we're still there. We were on intense mom-monitoring those last days. Mom had a really bad and turbulent time for a few days, so we had to sit and purr on her. Now only her tummy is ouchy, she says it's called gastritis, but her soul is feeling better again. We're thankful we could purr her out of this!
Sheesh, humans are so delicate.

A try at Toysday

Sigh, can't a floofy girl roll around in peace with her valerian filled cosy cushion? Just look at what that cheeky sisfur of mine always does. She had her own toy, but can't leave me alone...

I kept the upper paw and won the staring down match though. Now, who's the α-cat here? Ha! And mom? It doesn't help at all when you chuckle at the sight of us two - NOT AT ALL!
