Good times

Hi furriends!I thought that maybe you wanted to know how my belly looks now after it got so sore from the plaster.
It looks fine I think! The furs are starting to grow back nicely.
You know what else? When our furriends from cats in trees pointed out that we might have to change our blog name in "Cat looking at a Garden", mom finally got the message and we were allowed outside. It was a lovely sunny day and we had a great time.
Here I'm stalking little Chillimus.
With the natural light my fur colours come out nicely. Can you see I'm a torbie? Well, 'black silver mackerel torbie with white' to be exact, but that's rather long winded for every-day use.Our neighbour still has his little Christmas tree. It smelled very interesting.
His window ledge is a great place as it's easy to check from there if Frida and Lilly are outside. They weren't today and I got to snoopervise inside their garage shed and on their deck. Hehehehe! The introoder Dado hangs out in the shed quite often. Not long ago I got locked in a stare-down in there with him and didn't appear when mom called me. But this time it was just me and the sniffy smells! That's Chilli up there in the tree. The tree climbing lessons paid off nicely and she gets down on herself every time now.
She really got the hang of it and I'm very proud of my little sisfur! She's a professional Gardening Cat in every aspect now. This is what our paws looked like when we came inside. Mom was delighted!
Mine are even worse because of my snowhoes. Come on mom, you'll get over it.
Have a good Sunday efurryone!

Thursday in the garden

Life as a Gardening Cat is grand. We've joined our furriend Jonesie's Society of Feline Gardeners and today is the first club meeting. Jonesie is a true Master Gardener, so head over and see what she has to say. Siena especially liked today's tips on a fashionable gardening look.
We were already outside in the garden this morning.
Apart from tree climbing lessons for Chilli we didn't do much though, it's a cold and grey day. Mom loves to see us zooming around and chasing each other. It's great fun! She wished the picture had come out better, can you see us?Chilli still needs a lot of practise in tree climbing. Can you believe she actually got herself stuck in this position?!
I couldn't even look!
Yep, still stuck!
Oh, I can hardly watch. The little one has to learn that if she goes up a tree she has to come down again.
Chilli is very brave and at one point she just let her back paws go and clinged to the front trunk. She got down!
Phew. You know, I can't rescue her every time she gets stuck in a tree.
A sisterly nosekiss is soothing to efurryone's nerves.

In the garden

Although the weather isn't very friendly today we're out in the garden.
Siena is giving me treeclimbing lessons.
She says I have to be prepared for when Dado comes around. He's been leaving us alone but is still getting into almost daily fights with the neighbours, Frida and Lilly. We don't understand how mom could mistake the beautiful Lilly with this introoder. He's much bigger and darker!
Right cat on the garage roof.
Wrong cat on the garage roof.
Siena uses the maple tree to get into the other world behind the wall. She's scales the tree and jumps on the wall. That's so cool and I wish I could do it too. Do you see me at the ground watching her up in the tree? She's such a cool yet calm and relaxed sisfur. I really love her although I bug her sometimes.Okay, I must go outside again. I just realised yesterday that there are two Fischies in our tank on the terrace. Why didn't anyone tell me???

No friend of mine

Remember Dado? It seems that guy is here to stay. He's been nosing around in our garden regularly, getting himself into fights with the neighbour cats Frida and Lilly.
Here he's sitting on our wall.Siena on her way to chase him off.
Quite often there's one heck of a noise in the middle of the night and we know that it's Dado, challenging Frida. Frida is a tough cookie, but Dado is a big mancat.
One morning mom went outside and saw this. This is not Lilly. It's Dado. He made it onto their garage roof.
This is wrong. So wrong. Dado, go back to where you belong!
Several times mom found Dado threatening Chilli in the other world behind our wall. Mom knows something is wrong when Chilli doesn't come when called and nowadays it's most probably because Dado has her locked somewhere.
Today he actually chased Chilli up our maple tree.
In our own garden!
Siena never ever went up so high and she likes to climb trees.
The little one was up really high! Parallel to the balcony of the third floor, every appartment has the ceiling at 3,40 m. Just imagine.

Chilli was scared and cried for help.
Mom organised a ladder to get a bit closer to her but there was no way to reach her. We would have needed a ladder two and a half times as big to reach the little one!
Luckily having mom closer helped and Chilli got down on her own after a while.
It was so heartwarming seeing her descend backwards down that loooong trunk. Mom and a neighbour who was helping applauded the little one.
Mom sent a text message to Dado's owner saying that they have to have a talk and that she should get in contact with us, but so far she didn't call back. If Dado keeps causing so much trouble it will be trouble for his owner!
According to Chilli the worst bit was that Lilly was watching the whole time.
We were a bit exhausted but finished the day off nicely by doing one of my favourite things in the garden: Digging a deep hole! I love to zoom in and out of earth holes, helping with the digging and all. It makes me feel very frisky! It was Chilli's first opportunity to help digging a hole and she did nicely.
And no, the hole wasn't for Dado but for a beautiful hibiscus. ; )

Introoder cat's real identity

On Thursday we told you about how Siena rescued Chilli from the introoder cat and the tree. Well, the story continues! The following days to the eventful night were calm without any introoder cat sighting. Then, one day, the neighbourhood was plastered with these:
It says this:
On the 2nd of August my grey tabby Dado disappeared. He's one and a half years old and chipped. Please help me with the search, he most probably got locked into a cellar in the neighbourhood.
Mom felt guilty. She thought that Siena had frightend Dado so much that he got lost. She kept an open eye for him, but he didn't show up. A few days later mom was talking to the neighbour right behind our wall. He's a nice man who allows mom to climb over the wall into the other world to go and look for us whenever she wants. Anyway, as they were talking he suddendly asked her about the third cat. She went "Which third cat?" and he pointed towards some rose bushes. Sure enough there were the three of us engaged in a proper stare-down. Mom rushed off to call the number in the ad. The young woman on the other end told her that Dado had since returned home, is a happy neutered male and just seems to "wander quite far away". She asked mom to look after him a bit and pet him from time to time. Mom went back to have a chat with Dado. But it seems he's not too friendly outside. He puffs his tail and hollers terribly, it's pretty obvious that he doesn't want to be pet! He gets into the other world which is adjacent to our patio over a high wall. Mom is afraid that one day we will follow him and she knows that there's a patio behind that wall with an open garage entrance!
We since had a few encounters with Dado. He's very cheeky and persistent and challenges Siena for her, I mean our, territory. And he pees on our terrace!
On the look-out for Dado in our patio.
Chilli even practised her tree-climbing so she'll never end up stuck again.
Siena doesn't really need training but she did it anyway.
Notice the special back-up tail!
Uh oh, why is Siena in stealth mode? Do you see the introoder somewhere?Chilli prefers to stay up on the wall.
Yep, there's a tabby lurking in our territory!Siena and the introoder in a match of stare-down.

Extensive (!) coverage of this meeting tomorrow. Be prepared for some explicit cat language.
